Some pictures from our annual family BBQ. It was really good to have everyone together from around the country for some fun and food.
Ffion’s Graduation Day
22/7/25
Today Ffion graduated from the University of the West of England after studying Architectural Technology and Design. The ceremony was held in Bristol on a lovely hot day.
Bats!
The bats in our loft have been very active again this summer.
Dog Sitting
For two weeks, we are looking after Minnie, Herb and Bella. Together with our two, this has become a very frantic doggie household!
Chicken Run Extension
We’ve almost finished the extension to the chicken run. The new run has been built alongside the original one and connected by a tunnel made of some old car tyres. They are loving their extra space!
New Hay Store
We needed to remake our hay store in preparation to extending the chicken run. The existing one was a bit ramshackle, made out of pallets. We replaced it with one we built with wood and corrugated sheets, plus it is more usable too!
First, we took apart the old store.
Next, we put in the posts for the new one.
Next, we added the rest of the wooden frame and started to put on the roof and sides.
Next we added the sides and it was almost ready to go! All that was left was to trim the corrugated sheets to size.
Once the sides were trimmed, our store was ready to go!

Christmas Dinner 2024
Our annual trip down south to see our family for a Christmas lunch.
Yoga Retreat 2024
Some photos from our retreat at Stables Wellbeing with Inspired Yoga. We enjoyed a morning walk in the amazing Welsh countryside overlooking Carreg Cennen Castle. In the evening we huddled into the cosy roundhouse for medititations and chat.
There was also plenty of yoga of course, as well as activities such as pebble painting, Tarot and Angel cards and great company plus fantastic vegetarian food.
Anglesey/Ynys Mon Holiday 2024
Jen and I stayed in a Shepherd’s Hut in Anglesey which is something we’ve always wanted to do. It was also the home to numerous chickens, geese and ducks plus a pheasant which kept joining them.
We visited The South Stack Lighthouse, Tacla Taid, which is the Anglesey transport and agriculture museum, The model Village, Beaumaris and it’s castle, The Anglesea Sea Zoo, Plas Newydd and it’s gardens on an unsuccessful search for red squirrels (but we had a great lunch at Farmer Hootin’s hot potatoes, thoroughly recommended), and the open cast copper mines which was a great walk.
